Malcolm plays off of a 4 handicap, was University of Pretoria Golf Club Captain and represented the University of Pretoria in the Northern University League in 2009. Malcolm was the Tournament Director for Super 16 Schools Golf Tournament held at Zebula Country Club in 2008 and 2009 and formed part of the Organising Committee for the USSA Championships 2009 held at Wingate Park Country Club.
Determined to learn as much as he can about golf and golf course management, Malcolm has spent time working at a number of courses including Serengeti Golf Course, St Francis Links Golf Course, and Zebula Country Club in South Africa. He also spent some time at Jack Nicklaus’ home course Muirfield Village Golf Course, Dublin Ohio USA.
Steve has more than 20 years experience in the travel and leisure industry as the owner of Personal Africa, an inbound travel company with an enviable base of international clients who travel annually to the African continent for vacations, safaris and golfing experiences. Over the years, Steve has assisted numerous international clients to organise Pro-Am’s out of Europe and the United Kingdom.
The high standards, attention to detail and personal care, which Personal Africa provides to their discerning clients has not gone unnoticed. In 2011, Personal Africa was nominated as South Africa’s Leading Luxury Tour Operator at the World Travel Awards.
After many golf-related requests from international clients and tour operators, Steve and Malcolm established African Fairways and Safaris to answer the need for a dedicated service provider who truly understands the high standards of the international golfing fraternity and the local golf scene in South Africa and Mauritius.
