In the heart of the bushveld under the enormous African Sky is the Fig Tree, the ultimate in exclusive and tranquil dining. As night fades to black and the stars begin their dance across the evening sky, you’ll hear the lions roar and the distant trumpeting of an African elephant reverberate on the night air.

There are no fences or gardens within this 210-roomed resort. Built across the awe-inspiring African Bushveld, each suite has three or four individual bedrooms linked by walkways. The elegant decor is a timeless reflection of the African wilderness. Large picture windows and glass sliding doors offer panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and lead out onto perfectly secluded outdoor patios.
Each bedroom includes a small seating area and ultra-luxurious en-suite bathroom with double vanity, spacious shower and separate bath. Drawing their inspiration from the natural surroundings, the rooms are tastefully dressed in a neutral base accented with gorgeous gold, bold bronzes, spring greens, mushroom browns and shimmering silver.

Eagle’s Nest (Upper Escarpment):
Nestled against the Western Cliffs this four-star satellite lodge of Lakeside, has spectacular birds-eye views of Entabeni Lake and Mountain. There are four rooms in this thatch and wooden Lodge which share a communal lounge/dining area with a fireplace. All meals at this lodge are served at Lakeside. Eagle’s Nest is a haven of peace and tranquillity.
Hanglip Mountain Lodge (Lower Escarpment):
Surrounded by wetlands and expansive plains, this five-star traditional Mountain Lodge has ten luxury en-suite thatched rooms. Rooms have splendid views across the tranquil lake, across the plains and all the way to Hanglip Mountain and the Waterberg mountain range. The rooms are elegantly appointed with dark wood furnishings and crisp white linens and have a wonderfully romantic atmosphere.
Guests staying at Hanglip Mountain Lodge can enjoy fine dining in the Lodge’s restaurant or in the garden. Traditional braais or picnics can be arranged in the heart of the veld.
Lakeside Lodge (Upper Escarpment):
With the Entabeni Mountain range at its back and 1.7km Entabeni Lake before it, the four-star Lakeside Lodge is the perfect place to relax at the end of a successful day’s golf or safari. The 24 bedrooms are linked by thatched walkways to the main lodge area. Each room has its own private deck overlooking the mirror-like lake where you can enjoy sundowners and watch the passing game and bird watch. Sand-washed walls and thatched roofs in the rooms are complemented by plush animal prints as accents to crisp white linens.
Ravineside Lodge (Upper Escarpment):
You’ll look far and wide before finding a venue with vistas that are more impressive than those found at the four-star Ravineside Lodge. Built on wooden stilts on the edge of the ravine, each wooden thatched lodge has 3 or 4 bedrooms, a private open-plan lounge and bar area and open sundeck. Indulge in bird and game watching while experiencing the beauty of the ravine and the sounds of rippling water, far down in the valley. The luxurious wooden interiors are complemented by a white and tan colour scheme. Meals are served in the dining room and bar area – both with fireplaces – or outside in the boma in the shade of a 100 year old Fig Tree next to the swimming pool. Ravineside offers a selection of menus ranging from buffet to individually tailored menus for meals in the bush.
Wildside Safari Camp (Lower Escarpment) – Four Star:
Secreted in a lush bushveld setting, this rustic, unfenced four star camp of 20 luxurious tented chalets have splendid views of the Waterberg escarpment. Here you will experience the African night at her best. Dining around the campfire is a casual and relaxing experience at the Wildside Boma. For an ‘in the Bush’ dining experience guests can visit Waterberry Picnic Spot and the Marula Boma.
Kingfisher Lodge (Upper Escarpment) – Five Star:
Watch the hippos as they wallow in the shallows in front of the main deck at the five-star Kingfisher Lodge. Built along the banks of Lake Entabeni, this exclusive Lodge offers the ultimate in luxury and personalised service. In the evenings soft lamplight is inviting and meals are served at a selection of venues from the dining room, to the boma or pool area. Private romantic meals for two as well as bush braais and picnics can be arranged. The 8 deluxe, stylish bedrooms offer feature fireplaces, mini-bars and private decks.
