Mount Nelson Hotel

Opened in 1899, Cape Town’s most iconic luxury hotel is the Mount Nelson. Situated on the lower slopes of Table Mountain this romantic, old world hotel, fulfils every promise of service excellence and style.

Its romantic heritage recalls the days of great ocean liners and high tea on the veranda, while its contemporary dining scene adds a lively buzz. The decor throughout is a trove of antique luxury and its high domed ceilings a thing of beauty.

The hotel boasts two heated swimming pools, rolling lawns, a palm lined avenue and romantic secluded rose gardens. The Mount Nelson is wonderful retreat for the whole family to enjoy and its secure, wide open spaces make families feel at home and encourage children to run free and explore.

For ultimate luxury pampering a visit to the Librisa Spa is a must do activity. There are eight oversized treatment and shower rooms, separate manicure and pedicure rooms, and a sun-splashed conservatory which is perfect for catching up on your reading. Products incorporating local ingredients and treatments based on the healing power of touch make this an unforgettable experience.

Cuisine

The Oasis Restaurant offers bistro-style al fresco dining on a sun-splashed poolside terrace overlooking lush gardens and a sparkling swimming pool. It’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a healthy, wholesome breakfast or a delectable lunch.

The new Planet Restaurant has a crystal-studded entrance and finely woven galaxies at your feet. Enter into a gastronomic journey of discovery where tradition and fresh local ingredients are innovatively combined to delight the most discerning palate.

Perfectly complementing the stylish ambiance, Chef Rudi Liebenberg has created an out-of-this-world menu featuring smoked crocodile, Namibian red crab, Rooibos cured ostrich and springbok.
